Malaysia (MY HOME)

Since I was born and bred here, I take a lot of things for granted thinking I have a lifetime to explore my own country, but when foreign friends came and cited the exciting places they’ve been to, I feel embrassed to admit – yes, my country is very beautiful but err… I haven’t seen most of it. So this is an effort to re-discover my roots.

In a way, I was lucky to have been raised as an army’s daughter. My father took us to almost every corner of Malaysia. We’ve lived in 11 of the 13 states in Malaysia – minus Sabah and Pahang. Now that I’m married, I’ve settled down in Bukit Segambut in Kuala Lumpur and commute daily to my workplace in Sungai Buloh. I can’t remember in detail of each state but I will describe the states that I frequent, especially for family affairs and makan (food) attractions. In Malaysia, we live to eat (it seems!) because food is abundant and flavors are varied from one state to another. We prided in the unique ‘ness’ of our states’ culture, dialect and home-cooking, making Malaysia – TRULY ASIA! I will divide the pages for easier browsing and fellow Malaysians , please provide input and feedback to my pages because you’ll never know this could really save a life on those souls who comes to our country!
